Miscarriage/Early Loss involvement opportunity

The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA for short) are in the process of creating a service where parents can request a certificate to acknowledge their pregnancy or baby loss for before 24 weeks of gestation.

We are currently testing our online service prototype with users who have been through a miscarriage or baby loss under 24 weeks of pregnancy. This service will go live later this year.

To ensure the service is suitable, user friendly and easy to follow we are in the process of conducting a series of user research, this includes:

  • Checking the language is easy to understand, clear in its instructions, and sensitive to our users.

  • Identifying any difficulties or frustrations users have and feeding this back into the development process.

We are looking for people to take part in research regarding a miscarriage or baby loss before 24 weeks of pregnancy. We are hoping to understand more about the impact of this on parents so that we can improve our services. We use both the terms "miscarriage" and "baby loss", but we understand that there are many ways to describe this experience and that this may not reflect the language used by each individual.

The sessions may be by telephone or videocall and could take between 30-60 minutes. Those who participate will receive a £20 high street voucher for taking part. All responses will remain confidential and participants will not be identifiable in any reports.
