You told us -

We will post the results of surveys on here so you can see what local service users have said about services.

Maternity Matters Survey

This report is the analysis of the information collected in November 2015 through an online survey; more than 70 visits to sessions where mums meet, drop in sessions and public events took place. The project was led by Healthwatch Cumbria in partnership with Maternity Services Liaison Committees (we are now called Maternity Voices Partnership Groups) around the county.
Analysis was supported by the University of Cumbria.
You can read these reports, which are also listed on our blog page, here:

Dads &  Partners

Involvement of Dads and Partners is a Key Focus area for our Maternity Voices groups in 2018 and will continue to be in 2019, we would like more Dads actively involved in the group, and we would like to hear your ideas on how involvement could be improved. Contact us or email any ideas to us:

You can read what the women have had to say out dad's and partners involvement here

West Cumbria Maternity Voices are pleased to launch some fab new labour support resources for you. Put together by a dedicated group of Mums and Dads, with input from Midwives at West Cumberland, and desk top technical support from Paul at North Cumbria CCG, this has been a Coproduction project!  These resources will be used in Antenatal Classes and be available in all the birth rooms at both maternity units.

You can view some of the posters by clicking here.

They include really helpful ways for Dad's and Partners to support women during labour.

Pelvic Girdle Pain

Mums have been telling us their experiences of Pelvic Girdle Pain . #YourVoicesCount.

We have been able to identify some aspects that need looking at and are reviewing these.

We are still listening to your experiences on PGP and feeding this into a review of the Pelvic Girdle Pain Pathway.

Some Mums have volunteered to take part in this review to ensure user views heard first hand.

We will keep you posted on progress with this ongoing work!

Improving Access to Psychological Therapies

Maternity Voices were asked to find out the views of women who had used IAPT services in perinatal period (in pregnancy or after pregnancy).

Thank you to the Mums who got in touch for sharing experiences, you provided lots of information which is being used to shape improvements.

Summer Workshop Update

A big Thank You to everyone who made it to our joint MVPs Summer Workshop (some of you made it into the photo below).  We had 4 topic focussed activity sessions, plus a picnic and cake break. Kids had a great time too. This document is a summary of our workshop outputs.
